Soil Vapor Extraction with C3 Technology
Process Description | Power Requirements | Published Papers | GEO Brochure
|
C3 Soil vapor extraction systems are a combination of compressions,
cryogenic cooling, and condensation combined with a proprietary regenerative adsorption technology that efficiently recovers volatile organic
compounds (VOC's) from the soil vapor stream. Chemical is recovered as a non-aqueous phase liquid (NAPL) that is temporarily containerized for
recycling or disposal. C3 soil vapor extraction systems recover 99.98% of VOC's present in the vapor stream.
New or custom modified systems can be manufactured in 8-12 weeks.

xxxSoil Vapor Extraction Process Description |
-
Contaminated vapors are removed from soil vapor extraction wells by positive displacement blower, rotary claw, or rotary screw compressor.
-
Entrained liquids are separated with the vapor liquid separator.
-
Extracted air is compressed to 150 psi by reciprocating or rotary screw compressor and conditioned through a refrigerated chiller to further remove water and cool the stream to ambient temperatures.
-
The vapor stream is further cooled to -45°F where the chemical constituents are condensed and separated from the vapor stream.
-
The cleaned vapor stream is polished through a series of regenerative adsorbers that redirect any fugitive VOC's to the front of the system and then granular activated carbon.
System effluent vapor stream [<10 parts per million by volume (PPMV)] polish utilizing granular activated carbon (GAC) prior to discharge to atmosphere may be required in some regions; negligible GAC consumption.
GEO currently manufactures standard soil vapor extraction units of 100, 200, 300, 500 and 1,000 SCFM flow rate capacity. For larger SCFM requirements, G.E.O. provides custom systems to meet your needs.
